Didn't survive a day in pest control

I'd say definitely don't let your horse wear this for long. My horse tore it up in one day, the net didn't hold up so now I don't have $25 and no fly mask because the flies fly through the holes. For the price I would have expected more durability.

I use this mask in the pasture

Finally found a fly mask that my horse can handle. Normally fly masks last several hours before my horse figures out how to take them off, but he leaves this one alone. It's very light and doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest. In fact, he stands still while I put it on, so I know he likes it.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

Very nice fly mask for masks

Very nice fly mask. The material is soft and fits my horse well. Unfortunately in the first few days of wearing she managed to make a tear on her cheek and there is a small hole near her eye. Luckily the flies don't seem to get under the mask. I realize I'll probably have to buy another one before the end of summer, but for the protection Ginger gives, it's worth it!

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • piggy bank price

Trail fly mask works well

My horse and I saw one of these masks on a friend's horse. At the end of the ride I tried the mask on my horse. She was pretty good, very light, easy to put on the bridle. My horse's head is smaller than my friend's horse, I ordered an Arabian size that fits perfectly. It's great for keeping those pesky mosquitoes away. I'm glad I got this ahead of next year's fly season. The mask is lightweight but not so flimsy that I was worried it would tear easily. This mask is good for the trail but not…

Pros
  • Decent job
Cons
  • Out of style

Disappointingly short lifespan

I bought this type of Cashel mask for my horse over seven years ago and it was only this summer that it finally started to fall apart. My horse is easily startled and I wanted him to have a mask that would impair his vision as little as possible. I bought a new replacement mask, exactly the same style as the old one, and after two weeks the velcro had ripped off (the half of the velcro that is sewn to the mesh) and the new mask became unusable. In Cashel's defence, they point out that this type

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

ALMOST PERFECT - Masks

My gelding washes all the standard plastic mesh fly masks but he wears this one until it falls off. out or in dirt, feces, dirt, urine hole etc. He never makes holes in the mesh around his eyes which means flies stay outside and crawl into the mask, biting/drinking from his eyes and making them itchy and crying. I have found that it is better for my gelding to go for a thoroughbred arabian size instead of the standard colour. Too loose a size allows flies to easily penetrate and go to town…
