Review on Cashel Quiet Ride Horse Fly Mask: Ultimate Protection for Arabian/Small Horses by Lisa Lord

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointingly short lifespan

I bought this type of Cashel mask for my horse over seven years ago and it was only this summer that it finally started to fall apart. My horse is easily startled and I wanted him to have a mask that would impair his vision as little as possible. I bought a new replacement mask, exactly the same style as the old one, and after two weeks the velcro had ripped off (the half of the velcro that is sewn to the mesh) and the new mask became unusable. In Cashel's defence, they point out that this type of mask is meant for riding and not for leaving the horse out for the afternoon while it's in the pasture. But since the old one lasted many years, I decided the new one would do the same and not be as fragile.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
