Review on SRAM P Link Bicycle Chain 8 Speed by Darnell Evans

I bought both this and the 830. I thought the 850 had beveled edges and a smoother chain, but I'll tell you what: I couldn't tell the difference, it just looks at them. I had to constantly look at the part number on the box to tell them apart when installing them on two of my mountain bikes. I haven't put many miles on these chains, but they are both very good smooth chains. The included main connector makes installation very easy, and with a standard circuit breaker (I borrowed one from a friend) the process isn't time consuming at all. One thing to note, I expected that since it was an 8 speed chain and I was fitting it to my 8 speed bike (Gary Fisher Wahoo), I didn't have to shorten the chain on my bike. Not true - I had to remove a few links. If you plan to install this without truncation, you might be surprised. If I had to do it all over again I would just buy two 830 chains and be done with it.
