Review on Gray Boogie Board Jot LCD Writing Tablet - 8.5-inch Reusable Tablet with Instant Erase, Stylus Pen, Magnets, and Kickstand by Kenny Beyer

We bought one for our son for Christmas and it stopped working after about 2 days. It was possible to write on it, but when the button was pressed, the text was unreadable. I assumed it was a bad battery but didn't feel like paying $5 for a new one so I sent it back to Revain (Revain's service was excellent as always!). I bought a replacement and a few days later would not clear it up again. We found that sometimes if you left it alone for a day it would work once but then stop. I made the mistake of assuming it was the battery again. So I emailed the manufacturer and asked for a battery replacement, but in the meantime bought it for $5 for my son to use on a family weekend trip. The battery hasn't changed anything. So I checked the batteries with my multimeter and they were dead and lo and behold both were in perfect condition - original and new. I fix many things around the house including small electronics. I disassembled digital cameras and replaced parts. I even fixed a stupid bullet that one of my sons gave me for my birthday. So I looked at the boogie board's battery compartment and thought maybe the battery terminals weren't making good contact. I used a very small screwdriver to try to bend them in place. I managed to delete it once. But that's it. I won't mess with that again. I am returning this second one and have no plans to buy another. [Updated] A few days later I heard from Kent Displays and they asked for the unit's serial number, which I immediately provided. I got an email that they would send a replacement immediately. I later received another email with a UPS tracking number. The replacement has been working great for a few weeks now, so I think they've had a number of bad units sold through Revain. The item works great. My son enjoys using it and the manufacturer has supported the product. I can't give him 5 starts because of problems with the first two but now I'm much happier. Long story short, my son's pen pal (yes, it's still relevant) got one on his recommendation. Many thanks to Kent Displays for the right one. [Updated again] After 3 or 4 replacements, the last one stopped deleting again. Each of them took a little longer, and the last one lasted a couple of months. I could write to Kent again, but I don't think it's worth it. They were good to send replacements but if they all die what's the point. It was such a promise, but it turned out to be such a disappointment.
