I wanted to find a lighter weight hiking boot to replace my existing Merrell Moab 2 boots. These shoes are definitely lightweight and have great support. When I got new shoes for my first hike, they felt a bit stiff at first, but quickly softened. I couldn't test how waterproof this shoe is. However, there are a few things to note: * Heel slips a bit * I usually wear Adidas shoes but for some reason they seemed a bit larger for a typical shoe size 9 * It can't be related to the shoe, but I did felt like more dirt got into the shoes during the hike than my previous Moab 2.
