Review on ☕ Airscape Ceramic Coffee and Food Storage Canister - Airtight Inner Lid with Two Way Valve for Enhanced Food Freshness - Glazed Ceramic with Bamboo Top, Medium 7-Inch, Obsidian Black by Jill Weingartner

Great product - look out for this feature

I bought a medium sized 7" cobalt blue block. This is by far the most beautiful piece of ceramic craftsmanship I have ever seen. Extremely consistent size, inside and out. Unsurpassed smoothness of all surfaces. The glazing is immaculate and, well, like glass. The logo is only on one side, so you can rotate the canister to view the clean side if you prefer. I used it to store whole coffee beans. The inner lid works as intended. After squeezing and flipping the valve to close, it minimizes the exchange of O2 with the coffee below. The outer lid further restricts access and exchange of oxygen with the contents. Because of these properties, it keeps the coffee at its freshest. However, neither the inner seal nor the outer seal together retain the odor of the coffee beans in the container. There is a strong smell of coffee next to the canister. This does not mean that the freshness has been lost. Only that some of the bean smell would seep through the various pods and fill the kitchen. As a test, I wrapped tape around the outer lid and vertical portion of the canister. The smell is gone. I ended up using this canister to store non-coffee. You should be aware of this before buying. Note that despite this downside, the design keeps the coffee fresher than Rupperware or Tubbermaid, which are hermetically sealed but have free oxygen in free exchange with the coffee. Would I buy again but not for coffee.
