I bought this bracelet to have a spare bracelet in case the original bracelet fails. I also wanted more interesting colors than plain white. I had no problem installing the strap, 3 packs of straps came with a small bag of metal connectors. These straps have a hard, clear plastic hinge that metal pins fit in, and other than all the parts being small and difficult to see, I had no trouble installing them. The strap material is not as soft and flexible as the original silicone strap. I'm not sure what it's made of exactly, but it's not the same formula. Colors were as expected, size approached. I have found that the loop holding the extra length is less flexible due to the harder material and requires more effort and attention to move. The same goes for the buckle. It feels very secure, but is a bit fiddly if you want to tighten and loosen the strap based on your activity (as Fitbit recommends). I would have preferred them to be softer than the original straps, but that doesn't really detract from functionality and doesn't make me want to return things. ------------- Update: I have an article about clothes that are not very colourfast. It happens that it is black and made of synthetic fibers. I wore it once with one of those strips, and then not for very long, and now the strip looks dirty on all sides. I've tried various methods to remove the dark color and while I was able to use a green brush to somehow "soften" the discoloration, nothing completely removed the color. I was afraid of trying too many strong solvents, but I tried alcohol, soap and water, green scrub. I would try acetone but it is not available at the moment. In short, it is NOT silicone, it will discolour if worn with an undyed garment. Before this particular occasion the group was clean and attractive but now it looks sloppy all the time and I'm sad. I mean, these straps aren't expensive, but I expected each one to last more than a month or two.
