Gobsmacked

I bought these for use in the car or at my computer shop and wasn't expecting more than a $20.00 set of headphones. V30 with quad core DAC. Touted as the absolute best music playback device available at the time, it even surpassed the highly acclaimed Dragonfly Red portable USB DAC in many critical reviews. I don't know, but I do know that this $20 device powered my Dilvpoetry DAC FX box has surpassed on my desktop. Dilvpoetry is a sub $100 device but I was blown away by the quality of these headphones. The first surprise I got was the kick in the bass. I consider Days of Future Past by Moody Blues and Trilogy by Emerson Lake and Palmer to be standard for all headphones. The second thing I noticed was that the extreme highs were very harsh, even too harsh in some pieces of music, but with the help of the Poweramp EQ I was able to tame that a bit and keep that particular setting for high cymbals and guitar solos. Separation was excellent, even compared to Bose's $190.00 noise-cancelling headphones. My usual wired/Bluetooth headphones are B&O Beoplay H7s. It wasn't until I started using them after these headphones that I was able to tell the difference between the two sets, and while that difference was noticeable, it wasn't nearly as big of a difference as one would expect when pairing $22 headphones with a headphone system compares - inserts for $450. So yes, you "audiophiles" can take them apart as much as you want, but for less than 25.00 these headphones are nothing short of amazing, again considering the price. Some of them will be bought as Christmas gifts this year. I doubt many will be disappointed.
