When I first got this I thought you couldn't give it away but after using it for a while I realized there was nothing wrong with it was. it leaks yes and don't worry if you shake it be careful it may cause the liquid to be absorbed also it doesn't leak so yes and don't use it with caution. It is not recommended to put it in a lunch box if you can't get up and don't shake it. You can shake it, but close the hole to avoid leakage. You have to suck out the liquid so for teens and adults it's like drinking from a baby bottle lol. As for cleaning, I didn't have to.
