Rubber strip changed, properties changed! I bought two of these from Lowes a few years ago. The rubber part was durable. Thick but slightly flexible. It scratches like a champ. However, Lowes no longer wore them and I found them at Revane and ordered three. Mistake. I used one of the ones I ordered for the first time this morning and it didn't work properly. There were traces of moisture on the INSIDE of the squeegee. The brittle rubber piece wasn't strong enough to press firmly against the glass and remove moisture. And despite repeated rubbing, the moisture remained. One wipe was enough for my old Lowes squeegee. Very very disappointed. Like every other company these days, Ettore (the manufacturer) opted for an inferior, probably cheaper, part to save a penny or two in manufacturing costs. And that has a particularly strong impact on productivity and quality. If you hold them side by side, the difference in rubber quality is noticeable. The new rubber is much thinner and less stiff. And they don't work either. The price at Lowe's was about the same as Revain's a few years ago. They are really inexpensive. The old ones worked. They are not new. So relatively speaking, the new ones are too expensive because they don't work.
