Most of my straps are flat rope straps (or woven straps appear to be the same thing but a different material) but the ones with the slider pin continue to wear down the fabric. , which means the straps won't stay tight after a while. This uses a lever tooth mechanism for both the size adjuster and the latch. Does not slip, does not wear out the fabric. The strap is wider than my previous ones so I was concerned it might not fit through some of the strap loops but no issues so far. The latch doesn't open accidentally (an issue I've had with a similar mechanism in the past) and I've never pressed the wrong latch, even though it's so easy to work with either latch. I recommend buying a slightly longer belt than necessary and using a size adjuster to make up for the extra length.
