Review on πŸ•’ Timex Full-Size Ironman Road Trainer HR Monitor by Nicole Hefton

Terrible experience with Timex

I've been (and have been) wearing Ironman watches for 20 years and love the brand - I usually run with Polar HRM on one wrist and Timex on the other. I bought this hoping to have both functions in one watch but the experience hasn't been great so far. The chest strap feels comfortable, as other reviewers have said, but if it's snug enough to stay in place while running, it rubs and cuts skin. Body Glide helps, but it takes a lot of effort to prevent it. I went back to my Polar chest strap and tried using the watch like a regular Ironman, but then the screen went blank and the watch started resetting randomly, presumably due to a bad battery connection. I had only worn it for 6 months at the time, so it's not quite "bites and ticks on". I sent it back to Timex five weeks ago with an email explaining the problem. If all is well with the warranty I will reconsider this review. UPDATE: Timex finally gave me back my old watch with a new chest strap (not sure why - that part didn't break). A few days later the same thing started happening - the clock went off and/or reset. It is clear that the repair was not made and I still have no working hours. I contacted Timex via email and the customer service representative apologized for the issue and promised to send a new watch and return label to return the old one. I said everything will be fine. That was nine days ago and there are no new watches yet. Given Timex's reputation for good warranty service, I'm genuinely surprised and disappointed by all of this. SECOND UPDATE: Contacted support again who said that this model was out of stock and advised to wait indefinitely. For those who follow: the clock failed, then it wasn't possible to fix it, and now it wasn't possible to replace it.
