This is a great travel tote bag. I love how it folds neatly and packs away like a backpack. The baby lounger is soft and pleasant to the touch. They even designed a side pocket and a slot for baby wipes. You can also wear it as a backpack, a crossbody bag or a handbag - whichever is most convenient for you. It's relatively light, so most people don't have to worry about back pain unless they have pre-existing injuries. I would say it can be used from infancy to 6 or 9 months. There's even a Velcro closure to keep baby from rolling off. If you use this, make sure it's on a safe and level surface. Do not let your child lie on the bed in this rocker, otherwise they could roll off. If necessary, be sure to watch the baby like a hawk. When using such couches, our attention is always focused on the child. It is probably safest on a level surface where there is no risk of injury if they roll away. I know some people don't think baby loungers are safe, but from my personal experience as long as you pay close attention and keep them on a safe surface, you'll be fine. It just depends on how the parents are feeling and there really aren't any rules to follow when it comes to things like this. If you don't mind something like that, then use it. It will most likely make your life a little easier, and it has for our family. If this makes you uncomfortable, then follow your instincts! All baby products can be safe and unsafe. A crib can be dangerous, but where will the baby sleep if you choose not to? Overall I think it's well done and a great solution if you need to travel with an infant. Personally, I don't like using cots in hotels/rentals because of the cleanliness aspect. I prefer to bring my own backpack and play or travel cot. Obviously as your child gets older they won't be able to sleep in it anymore so I recommend buying this as early as possible so you can get the most out of it. Even if you don't use it when travelling, it's practically a baby bouncer that you can also use at home. That's what we mainly used it for. I am very happy with the overall quality of this product.
