Review on Dell E2016HV LED Monitor - Sleek and Mountable with 1600X900 Resolution by Scott Elsey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great monitor for general use (not really for gaming)

This monitor is really good for general computing use and maybe some light non-graphics intensive gaming. If you're a gamer, you probably aren't looking at this monitor anyway. Some graphics cards cost more than a laptop; so a $65 monitor is not what you want. A serious gaming monitor should have an HDMI output. This monitor is VGA. Now, like me, let's move on to general usage. I need something affordable and with excellent image quality. It also had to be VGA, I'll get into that later. I mainly shop online and work a lot with Microsoft Office such as Word and Excel. This monitor is the size I need and the picture seems sharper compared to my old monitor. I need a VGA output because I have multiple computers connected to a KVM switch that uses VGA. A KVM switch is when multiple computers are connected using the same mouse, keyboard, and monitor. A KVM switch allows you to switch between computers. I had a custom built Windows 10 computer. All other computers displayed fine on my monitor except the Windows 10 computer. After many adjustments and tweaks, the display quality became poor. I realized I needed a new monitor with a VGA output. I did some research and found this monitor. I am pleased to report that this monitor works well with my Windows 10 computer. All in all, it's a great affordable monitor for people who still need VGA and aren't heavy gamers.

Pros
  • A bit pricey but hopefully it will last longer as it's a Dell.
Cons
  • Sent back for a larger monitor
