We like to collect jigsaw puzzles at family gatherings on vacation (mainly at the beach). So we can put together a solid puzzle on the dining table and quickly assemble it and all the other parts for the meal. After that, open it again and we'll get back to the puzzles. The two boards holding the loose pieces are great for us to keep in order. The material is also smooth enough to hold the puzzle flat, but with a surface that keeps the pieces from slipping. I wouldn't store the puzzle vertically, but it works great if you close the store and put it by your bedside while you eat.
