I've bought a lot of these and they were great at first. You'll work for a solid karaoke night. But inevitably they broke one after the other. The problem is a design flaw that stresses the ground wire solder point. Sometimes even a slight tug on the cable attached to the base of the microphone creates tension and pulls on the soldered wire. Then you unscrew the top and indeed the chain will break. I think I bought about 4 of these over the course of about 2-4 months and I even re-soldered a few of them which gave me a few more nights to use. But I found another option at Revain that added about $4 to the price, but took more than a year of work. Therefore I cannot recommend them at all.
