Very cool! on Puzzle

Really cool and lots of details. I'm not a fashion designer. I bought it to assemble as a gift for a railroad enthusiast who has no mechanical leanings. It took me about 12 hours to assemble. A few tips: Take an X-ACTO #1 Z-Series knife with a protective cap and use it to cut out the small pieces of wood that are holding the pieces to the board. Turning the board upside down makes it easier to see where to cut. Use a pair of Hakko CHP-170 Micro-Soft Wire Cutters, 1.5mm Lead, Flush Cut, 2.5mm Hardened Carbon Steel Construction, 21 Degree Bevel. Angled jaw, 8mm jaw length, 16 gauge maximum cutting capacity to cut toothpicks flush where needed. Some Megacandles - unscented tealights - are ivory, a set of 50 is good for lubricating moving parts. Sometimes I waxed wooden parts, sometimes I lit a candle and applied wax with a toothpick (especially on gears). Make sure you don't put too much in or you'll clog the work and it won't move freely. Of course you don't need 50 pieces. Grab some Tweezerman nail files, count to 5 to remove burrs from the wheels, and everywhere else you'll see scraps of wood left over when the pieces were pulled off the board. Sometimes you need to put parts in place. Make sure you back everything up and make sure it really lines up. Don't force anything. I accidentally broke a few pieces but I was able to glue them together with Gorilla Original Gorilla Glue Minis, 12g, brown. Nothing too serious. just be careful Full speed won't get you far, but that's not the point. It's more what you see when you know everything is working. If I were to build another one it would probably only take 6 or 8 hours now that I'm more familiar with how it works. Anyway, I hope he enjoys it.
