HB wire works well. The rubber insulating sleeve that surrounds the copper is a little stiffer and stiffer than most, so it's a little less flexible than high-quality high-voltage cables. I have used it on LED tracks and planters and it has worked well. Will have to wait and see how it holds up in the elements.
