We love this napkin holder because gravity helps us. We are a family of 7 and have not had a napkin holder until now! I chose these because vertical napkins can leave a wobbly mess of napkins if you try to pull just one out and I didn't imagine anyone other than me would straighten them out on a daily basis. So this holder is the winner. A small flap protects the napkins from the wind and simply helps to keep things tidy. The oiled bronze goes well with our kitchen. And it can also hold large decorative holiday napkins. (Although, to be honest, we also put all the take-out napkins in there so we don't waste them.) The only thing I don't care about (-1 star) is that it's not perfectly symmetrical. . Of course, no guest will likely ever notice or think that this is done on purpose. But judging by the shopping list, it doesn't look intentional, and it annoys me a little. So if you're looking for a perfectly symmetrical napkin holder, this may not be for you. Otherwise, you'll probably be happy and not fighting gravity by keeping your napkins tidy! :D
