While I didn't get the 100MB/s read speed advertised on the box, when connected to the latest laptop with a microSD slot I was very close to it were no adapters. Previously I tried using an adapter on a USB 3 port and got a 5x slower speed. So it depends a lot on the interface and adapter for your computer, not the limitations of this product. Any adapter was not included.
