Review on BenQ Zowie EC1 Ergonomic Gaming Mouse for Esports - Professional Grade Performance, Driverless, FPS Matte Black Non-Slip Coating - Large Size by Leon Johnsson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Sturdy and reliable, but needs improvement

The EC2 is a relatively comfortable mouse, although the surface could feel better if it were a bit matte rather than glossier/matte. The mouse buttons have a good feel, although the cushy grooves feel like they're pressing my index finger with my palm/claw closer to the wheel on the left mouse button. Coming from the Deathadder Elite, the shape doesn't feel as comfortable to me, and it doesn't feel like an extension of my hand like the Deathadder Elite does. The side mouse buttons 4 and 5 are just not great in my opinion. I never felt the term "soft" was really ever applied to the mice, that I've used, but it definitely fits this mouse. There's a noticeable distance to actuation, and it just seems out of place due to the overall strength of the structure. This isn't a particularly bad mouse, however; It is only overshadowed by the overall quality and comfort of the new mice. I would say this is one of those mice that you will either love or just dislike when you have no other choice. to get the most out of the feature as the polling rate and DPI are at the bottom of the mouse. The simplicity and overall build quality feel really solid compared to the 4 and 5 mouse buttons on the side. The mouse wheel has decent resistance, but is more suitable for gaming than surfing the web. I would only recommend this mouse to those who are into FPS games heavily, as this mouse seems to have some sort of ability to make aiming easier and more accurate. For all other games I would look elsewhere. Especially if your gaming isn't more than surfing or doing anything other than FPS games or anything else that requires aiming or accuracy.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
