Ordered 12.5" wide (very hard to find size in store) on the hunch I might actually find a shoe that would fit my 5 year old son would fit. Correct. They are perfect. Light, breathable, well constructed and comfortable. He loves them. Only four stars because: 1. When you lace them up to the top guide, the laces are on the ankle and not on the tongue of the shoe (IMHO, a design flaw, but fixed if you don't lace them up that high - although it's only a couple of eyelets, the shoe stays put), 2. Blue is closer to the purple side of the color spectrum, it doesn't bother us, but it certainly doesn't go with the actual blue in most boys clothes and 3. it looks like the glue on the sock isn't going to last long but that's TBD we love them and will be buying them in gray again.
