Not waterproof and hardly floats

I did a simple test in the sink and bathroom using a small cell phone sized charger. Judging by the photos, it didn't go well as they say. Most of it was below the warmer line, except for one small corner. I might be okay with that, but water got in as well. That's not normal. If it fails such a 15 minute home test, I can only imagine how bad it would be in a real water situation with a real phone.
