Having used this brace due to a severe ankle sprain playing basketball, I would describe this brace as the "jack of all trades". This is the most versatile brace I have come across as it works on either ankle and the included steel bars can be removed to help with any type of ankle sprain. You no longer need to buy a brace for each ankle and worry about how much protection that brace will provide. I've played basketball at both the collegiate and professional levels and have had a few ankle injuries. The ability and versatility of this brace makes all others superfluous as it can be adjusted to fit all of my needs, be it left or right ankle and/or low/high sprains and all grades of sprains. The Velcro closure eliminates the need to tie cords on other braces, you simply pull it from side to side and adjust the level of compression you want.
