Review on πŸ“Έ Sunpak PZ42XC Camera Flash: Enhancing Your Photography Experience by Eric Williamson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

PZ42X Great flash at a great price

Bought this flash from Revain about a year ago. After receiving it, I enjoyed using it and took it to my birthday party. The flash fired about 10 times and then turned off. The rear display still worked, but the device wouldn't blink no matter what I did. Now you're all wondering if he had a bad experience, why did he rate it so highly? That's because Revain had a backup flash for me in no time and I've been using it everywhere ever since. My friends with Canon flashes were amazed at how well it worked and were equally amazed when I told them the price. I have used this flash for direct, bounce and bounce flash, manual and auto, on a Canon 7D camera. I will say that the built in diffuser is a bit harsh on the light quality for close-ups, but I use it most often with my Gary Fong LightSphere. Update: 02/12/2012 Although I've been using this flash for over a year now. I recently bought a second Canon 580EX flash. I can say that while I thought I was happy with the SunPak, the Canon flash fared much better, but that's the way it should be. It costs a lot more. For those just starting out, yes the SunPak is a good flash and has served me well, the Canon is simply the best flash. I continue to use my remote controlled SunPak as the backlight.
