They work really great and I really like what I can now put in them a wider range of energy saving bulbs. BUT you will need to do some research to determine the CORRECT adapter. The reason I mention this fact is that these E12 adapters are what I would call "standard" candelabra adapters. I bought these for two of my newest backlit ceiling fans. Both fans came with a chandelier outlet installed in the unit. So please note that one of the E12 adapters is perfect as it fits the 'standard' Cadelabra bulb and the other is the adapter for the E11 'mini candebrabra' socket. I only discovered this during my post-delivery research via a website I found with a huge list of every type of adapter one could dream of. The web search string I used was "base US lightbulb types". They even had pictures of adapters to help you decide which type to buy. This feature alone on the website was immeasurably useful!
