Despite the obvious standardization with RJ45 connectors and Cat5/6/7 cables, I noticed that many reviews had a specific Combination of mention tools/cables/connectors that didn't work so I'll add my experience to hopefully make it easier for others. Fat connector for 23 AWG cable - B07G2Q1KSDC UL rated wall mount cable (cm) Cat 6 Bare Copper, Cat6 Bulk Cable (Cat6 Ethernet Cable, 1000 ft) - B0049L24TQ They all worked fine together. I haven't crimped Ethernet cables for a long time and have found the pass-through connectors/crimps easy to use. A slight learning curve and a small added value to smooth individual strands particularly well and wide. Also, it was easy to mistakenly not insert the socket deep enough into the crimping tool that it wouldn't work. For those connectors at least, I had to somehow put them in there to make sure they worked. If I didn't, it wouldn't crimp properly or trim excess wires, but with an extra push it worked every time. I also received a Klein Tools VDV501-823 cable tester, VDV Scout Pro - B00M2DDO0Q, to check, but this is most likely not the case. so much emphasis on compatibility.
