On paper it has many advantages. Beamforming technology, WiFi6 compatible, USB3 connection and made by TP-Link, the same company that makes my Deco mesh router system. So it should be very easy to install on the most popular operating systems (Windows 10), just plug in and BAM! Fast and stable WiFi! Right? Not as much. This device features FOMO. It can thrive when you have low signal strength to the access point, but if you have a good enough signal it will only oscillate between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. If you happen to be within range of more than one router in your mesh system, it will move from mesh to mesh. Everything would be fine if it were actually compatible with WiFi6, because then the transitions would be background and fluid for the user. but it doesn't seem to be. Every time he thinks the grass is greener, he disconnects. This does not contribute to a good user experience. Now I could get it working. but to do that I just had to make the client 802.11ac (so it only connects on 5GHz) AND had to set a configuration in the Deco Mesh admin tool to not let Deco switch. One day I pointed the antenna at Deco who lives on the same floor and did two other things. suddenly WiFi! I would expect such compatibility issues between brands. and don't like to play with the same? Ridiculous. Good enough so I won't send it back because it's too much hassle. but would never buy it again.
