The cable gauge is much smaller than the factory one. This is a problem because the heavier gauge wire will melt over time, but will do so in less time. The crimps that came with the kit didn't work because the factory wires were too big. I soldered them together to make them work. After installation, I turned on the AC to see if the wires would get hot due to the smaller size. I checked the solder point and found that all four were cool to the touch. The point where the wires enter the connector was very hot, as I would expect with a smaller wire.
