This was the only raincoat I could find that covered both the dog's stomach and back, which I was specifically looking for. I don't need a coat to keep him cute, I need a coat to keep his coat dry. This cape looks like it will. Unfortunately, the closure is on the dog's stomach, which makes it very difficult to put on and take off, especially since it is a Velcro fastener. If your dog is generally fluffy, then Velcro and that fluff don't mix very well. I have a small down jacket for my other dog that fastens on the dog's back and is a dream to put on and take off. I understand that the zipper on the back can let rain through, but I know we've worked around that with human clothing, so I think it can be worked around with dog clothing as well.
