The over-the-shoulder model frees the hands, seems to put less pressure on the body and also offers a more secure fit. I bought this for my 13 year old boy. He finds the backpack comfortable and convenient. I'm so glad I no longer carry other people's personal belongings and/or electronics besides my own. His tablet fits into an even larger protective case. However, if you have a tablet/bag the same size as him (just over 10 inches long) it will fit snugly and should be placed in the front of the pack. The exact dimensions of his tablet case are included in the images for reference. The locking and charging work and are great features. This bag is used with various items for everything from athletics, air travel and other outdoor activities. Overall I am very happy with this purchase, but especially with my son.
