Review on πŸ”Œ AV CVBS S-Video to HDMI Converter - Composite 3 RCA to HDMI Adapter, Supports 1080P Resolution for HDTV DVD - Male Version by Timothy Johnson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Subtitles are not skipped

This small dongle is a mechanism that can be used to connect devices such as a VCR, Laserdisk, NES or other composite device to a modern television. As mentioned, you will need a power source (not included) e.g. a spare cell phone charger (I use an old Motorola USB charger that only puts out 750mA which is fine). I also had to use my own S-Video cable, but I had it on hand. The only downside is that it does NOT transmit subtitle data. I thought it might be my LD player (although it was a late model and should be compatible) or the TV, so I tried connecting it directly with a composite cable and CC worked. I haven't changed it, so I don't know if this is a marriage or a defective device. However, if you rely on CC, you can keep browsing. If not, it works just as well as the more expensive options but with a few customer-supplied elements to complete it.
