Due to the way my computer desk was set up, I had issues with my headset cord being pulled or just getting tangled. The headset speakers seemed to work well, but friends complained that the microphone volume kept going up and down. I figured a standalone mic would be the perfect replacement as the cable could be routed and managed as it would stay in its usual place. After some research, I decided that a mic stand would be essential as, despite excellent audio reviews, this mic reportedly needs close proximity to be heard clearly. I will say that the stand is very good. I can keep it attached to my desk and hold it right up to my face when I want to use it. When not in use, it can be flipped and folded to take up very little space. The microphone does an excellent job of reproducing real sound and works very well. Having a position helps though, as you need to be fairly close when speaking in a normal voice so others can hear you clearly.
