We are very pleased with this remote e-collar for teachers. We are dog lovers and were reluctant to use any type of stun collar. We've also read that intelligent dogs can be hypersensitive to electroshock therapy. Educator had good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We have a 9 month old Goldendoodle puppy who is still learning but can be stubborn on walks and can get upset at times by biting the leash and jumping or barking at someone or another dog. We thought about finding a job training for him, but first we wanted to try an educator. We set the Low Shock Educator collar to #10 (we tested it a little higher on ourselves to see how it is - (level #18 felt like a physio machine for dozens)). After trying the collar out while walking the dog, we found that a short vibration is enough to reorient our pup so that he obeys the given command and stops the unwanted behavior (sometimes with a second vibration). We didn't have to shock him. Vibration alone works great and quickly grabs his attention. Now he behaves quite well on walks. We also noticed that the collar doesn't have to be very snug around his neck, but rather snug enough that the vibrator/shock device barely touches his fur. This seems to make it more comfortable and allows it to be worn longer and still be able to pick up and respond to vibrations. The collar battery could have lasted longer but other than that we are very happy with the purchase. Highly recommended.
