Measure the length of cord you wish to cover, not the width of the rail itself.
I bought this to protect electrical wires for Christmas lights. We'll have to see how well it holds up year after year, but for now it's doing the job. For the best fit: Remember to measure the length of cord crossing the trail, not the width of the trail itself. I liked that it's split at the back so you don't have to thread all the cords at once. You can arrange the lights first and then just fuel them up. If you're using this outdoors I definitely recommend hanging it to dry (like a hose) for a day before rolling it up and packing it up.
