Although I am pleased with the model, I have only used it on two travels so far. The most important element is that it does not fail you on your trips, as such gear is meant to be a dependable and trouble-free friend. Thus far, I have had no complaints, and it comes with my highest recommendation. The benefits: The swiveling display makes it possible to shoot a family portrait in any setting, whether that be a snowy mountain range, a tropical rainforest, or even an ocean. Wi-Fi makes it easy to transfer photos from a camera to a mobile device, which is helpful because backup flash drives are easily misplaced or forgotten. I enjoyed how it captured video, but the audio quality was subpar and slow motion was unavailable, at least in HD. Photos are average, comparable to those taken with other compact cameras; however, this model's ability to shoot in low light using its LED flash makes it particularly useful in low-light situations without negatively impacting the quality of the images captured. This is because, unlike with a pulsed flash, the diode fires continuously, so subjects' faces are not overexposed and fish are less startled. Before to that, I had experience shooting with the Nikon AW110, a decent gadget that, in terms of chip count, pales in comparison to this. The negatives: The video's audio, the kit's lack of a neck strap, the kit's buttons, and the near proximity of the strap mount all contribute to a less-than-comfortable experience. With earlier Olympus models, lens shutters were more frequent, so I'm not sure why they were discontinued. It's possible that the choice will be divisive, but that's exactly how I want it.
