I've thought long and hard about spending so much money on a fan. But this fan was worth it. I have a psychiatric practice. So I need a fan that is very quiet yet efficient in moving the air in the office. I was intrigued by the idea of a Dyson fan, but financially it was out of the question. I'm so glad I chose this fan. It looks good and goes well with my office decor. CALM. This is absolutely necessary for me - I need to hear people talking (sometimes softly) and I really can't afford distracting noise in such a sensitive environment. This fan is surprisingly quiet and fully meets my expectations. I'll admit it can be a bit noisy when I'm on the highest settings, but it seems reasonable considering the basic air intake and exhaust mechanics. In terms of air movement, this works really well. I have the fan about 7-8 feet away from me, but I can feel a nice smooth flow of air right where I need it (even on the lowest setting). The "swing" feature works well and covers a good arc to move air around the room so it's not too stuffy and evenly distributes the heat or air conditioning throughout the room (about 300 square feet). Since I also often sit in meetings for 50-90 minutes, I really appreciate the remote control. It's nice to be able to turn it on and off without getting out of your chair and interrupting your therapy session. I could probably achieve a similar effect with the "Sleep" function, but I haven't tried it yet. I don't usually spend time reviewing products. But my satisfaction with this fan was worth sharing.
