This lock is pre-programmed and comes with two keys suitable for vehicles that do not require 'chip keys'. If you have keys with a chip, the instructions say to buy new keys to fit that lock, which is an additional cost that may be higher than the lock itself. This lock does not come with parts to fit it Customize your existing keys. This was not mentioned in the description. I'm sending it back and ordering another lock that comes with parts to adapt the lock to existing keys. I decided my keys weren't too worn out to keep using them. It is evident that the parts of the lock had seized due to wear and tear.
