Ideal for video editing, ideal for stopping RSI

I'm a film and video editor with over 25 years of experience. I only write reviews when I think I can really help others by sharing information. I shoot a lot but when it comes to editing I can spend 9 hours a day editing. A few weeks ago I started experiencing pain in my shoulder, after doing some research I realized it was a mild case of RSI. Of course, I realized that in order to stop the RSI, you need to take care of the chair, posture, table, keyboard, etc. So keep that in mind as you read my review. So let's talk about the mouse. I've tried several vertical mice, I've tried ergonomic mice and even some gaming mice, the pain was the same and some of them even worse. trackball. It's also difficult to do really precise movements needed for graphic design or video editing on the m570, especially if you're a fast-paced editor or an editor who thinks fast and what your hands are doing goes with what you're doing. want to keep. mind decides. I tried the Kensington Expert trackball (wired version) and at first I liked the big trackball but I didn't find much of a difference. However, precise movements were not easy. But then I read some helpful reviews and found a solution and now I love this trackball. I can edit for hours without hand fatigue, and best of all, I don't feel my hand while editing! Without a doubt, this trackball is the best mouse replacement ever. My next step will be using a Wacom tablet, but for now I'm on my honeymoon with my trackball! So the keys to using this trackball effectively for video editing or any activity that requires extremely precise movements are: 1. Move the trackball. Index finger with occasional help of middle finger. DO NOT use your thumb to move the trackball as this will cause you more pain if you have RSI or develop other problems if you are fine. 2. I am using a MAC but I assume you can do the same on a PC. On a Mac, go to Control Panel, Mouse Speed Control (not specific trackball speed but overall mouse speed) and place it center right or one line earlier (slower) than center.3. I am using a MAC but I assume you can do the same on a PC. On a Mac go to the Control Panel and in the trackball panel check the tab that controls speed, set the speed between 20% and 40% (exact number depends on your editing style, fast or slow movements). This helps you make precise movements without problems, but slows down the pointer speed to cover large distances quickly. To help this, set the trackball acceleration to around 40-70% in the same tab. This will give the trackball some speed when you roll it to move the pointer from one point to another on the other side of the screen or on the second screen.4. The trackball has 4 buttons that can be configured on the same tab as described above. By default, the bottom buttons are set to right-click and left-click. I suggest you set up the top left or top right button to block dragging. By doing this, you stop one of the worst actions for the RSI - pulling. With drag-lock, you click an item with the drag-lock button, move it, and then release it by pressing the same button again. I hope this review helps other video editors, graphic designers or audio engineers protecting their hands/arms or trying to stop RSI or even carpal tunnel.
