Review on ARCTIC Liquid Freezer RGB Multi Compatible by Carl Estell

Just from my experience as I just installed it last night (I have the A-RGB 240mm model and no controller included) . The instructions on the web were not easy at all and I have installed both AIOs and air coolers on my machines. Here are a few things that stood out to me: 1) It was very difficult to tell which screws were for the heatsink, which were for the AMD offset (I did an AM4 install) and which were for the mounting bracket, the ones used by the Bottom of the 2) Installing the brackets on the offset that sit on the back was annoying! Basically, this requires three hands because the backplate could fall off the back of the motherboard if you try to lay the board horizontally, but holding the motherboard upright will not hold the plastic tabs firmly enough on the backplate towards you. Mount two brackets over the cranks! 3) The visual instructions left out steps and there was no installation video like other Arctic Liquid Freezer II products. I joke that all I saw for installing a pump bracket was a picture of the underside of a pump with those brackets installed, but I didn't realize it was even a step until I did a little research. Not easy at all. I then used the wrong screw (not clear which screws are used for what) which I then stripped so I had to use pliers to remove it. very decent but not overwhelming, especially considering all the accolades and the effort involved). All in all, I don't understand why this product requires the use of an offset and the non-A-RGB AM4 doesn't. Anyone know why that is? Would I buy this again? It's probably not just extremely poor instructions, mountains of unmarked screws, and the need to have three hands to complete the installation. Even if my performance drops a bit, I'm happy to take another brand of AIO that makes installation easier! I hope this will be helpful to those considering this product.
