Review on Organize Your Kitchen Knives And Utensils With Navaris Wood Magnetic Knife Block - Double Sided Magnetic Holder In Walnut Wood by Matt Charlton

Good idea, bad execution

This is the simplest approach to the universal magnetic knife block I've seen. Depending onw how your knife handles are the shape could potentially work really well, except that there's only a thin strip of magnet by the top of the block. In effect that makes it not very functional. Knives slip around a lot because they only have one thin point of magnetic pull to keep them in place.Other designs from this company have much stronger magnets that work better, but the tops are slanted. Again, maybe that's better for your knives. Also, this seems to be the same item as sold by Le Creuset for $100 or so. A lot of these sorts of things come from a Chinese OEM and get branded by whatever company sells them here. Try image searching a product if you're curious if there's possibly a cheaper, similar version sold somewhere else.

Pros
  • SPACE SAVER: The double sided magnetic knife block offers more space than traditional knife blocks do for cutlery, sharp steak knives, cake knives, and any utensil as well as keys and other magnetic items.
Cons
  • The narrow design of the block may not accommodate all types of knives or utensils, limiting its usefulness in the kitchen
