Review on G Form Pro X Ankle Guard Medium by David Dober

Looks great, fits great but doesn't harden or slip out too often

I wrote a review on the G-Form Pro-S Elite shields detailing that the foam does not cure and the shields do not offer the protection they promise. My experience with the ankle guard is the same as my experience with the shin guard: it looked cool, it fit great, it didn't protect. The small patches of foam on the knuckles did little to absorb the impact they received when I tested the protection. Also, the see-through material that the foam pads rest on is so slippery and stretchy that under gaming conditions it's just as likely that - even if the foam pads cure and protect as advertised (which, in fact, they don't) - - I slipped and was knocked off the opponent's boots, and my ankle was still scratched. Eh I wish it was different. These shields do not harden or protect as advertised, and that is the primary purpose of guards. They still look cool and fit well, but since they don't serve their purpose, they're being sent back.

Pros
  • EASY CARE: Machine washable - remove and toss in the wash after each use.
Cons
  • Much
