I had to buy fans for my TV cabinet because closed doors meant everything got too hot. I have a young child at home so I had to cover everything up. I chose this kit because I knew I would need thermal control, at least 2 fans, and funds to make the final project look fit and complete. The set has everything I needed. You can find parts individually for a little less, but I don't think it was worth the savings to keep track of all the individual parts. Installation will require you to cut into your media cabinet with a saw. Make sure you measure correctly and make sure the holes line up before you cut. In this set I was drawn to the bezels, grille and screen. Everything had to fit. I will also upload photos of my final product. The thermostat also works well. DO NOT remove the insulation from the temperature sensor. There is a toggle switch to turn on the fan continuously or the fan with temperature control. When the fan is off, the LED glows red, and when it turns on automatically, it glows bright green. The yellow-green LED lights up with a continuous light. So you can tell if these fans are working because they are pretty quiet fans. When the TV is on and the cabinet doors are closed, the fans are not audible at all, but the light is visible. I placed the switch further back in the cabinet so the LEDs are not visible when watching TV. The fan displaces enough air to keep my HTPC and receiver cool. I have an Onkyo receiver which is known to get very hot so it also heats up my HTPC and shuts it down. These fans keep everything cool. I set up the fans so that one sucks in cold air and the other blows out hot air. The suction is at the bottom of the housing and the exhaust air is at the top. I also bought another fan cheaply at a local computer store and installed it on a shelf. The shelf fan directs hot air from the bottom compartment to the top compartment where the range hood can push it out. All three fans are connected to the same temperature sensor, so they all turn on at the same time. You must plan for a good airflow path for this system to be truly effective. I will also post pictures of my setup. Overall, this little project took about 2.5 hours from start to finish, including wiring and cleaning. Ask questions in the comments and I will answer them. Great set, cooler guys!
