Okay this wand has gotten some bad reviews but I have to say we love it! I bought this for my 6 year old son who wants to attend the school talent show. The excitement he got when he threw it in the air and it popped open was amazing! It really is some kind of paper (something like very thick Mylar) but I have to say it still looks great after I rolled it up and tossed it in the air 30 or more times in one night! Even though it's paper, I don't think it feels like paper at all when in use. You really have to hold it in your hands to understand that it's neither metal nor plastic. I give this product 4 stars because I really believe that the product description should state what material it is made of. Just looking at the picture it seems it is plastic. So I can understand the frustration of others when they need a more durable wand. Also, it's not that easy to roll up at first, but once you disassemble it a bit things get a lot easier. Even my son could roll it after some practice. All in all, if used properly, I don't see why it wouldn't last long. It's incredibly fun and easy to use. I personally think I got a great bang for my buck. If you're a serious magician, this probably isn't for you. But for a kid looking for fun, it's just magical!
