So I've been using an electric razor for a while and decided it was time to try something else for a closer shave. This razor seemed to be the right size and came with blades so I paired it with a shaving stick and shaving brush and off I went. It's easy enough to open or close by twisting the bottom of the handle. Feels good in the hand, doesn't look heavy. I've used it a few times so far and I keep getting razor burn. The shave itself looks nice and smooth, but always ends up with irritation of the skin on the neck. I'm not giving up yet, but I think it will take a lot more practice to get to the point where I can shave well without irritation. I don't know if the blades or the guards are partly to blame, but the idea of a classic shave at least seems worth it.
