Did a lot of research before buying. I wanted a player that is easy to carry, made of metal and glass, has a very large capacity, pure music player, no android, fantastic sound that works with all lossless and dsd formats. I have to honestly say that the AP80 exceeded all my expectations and I think the money I paid for all of this was great. It's been a while since I felt like what I bought was great and I got more than I paid for it. When looking at this player, I was first put off by the function button on the side, thinking it could be easily damaged. . After using this player for about 100 hours, I like it. First, it is solid metal that is protected by the player's metal body as it has a built-up area around the grip. You can use it to quickly turn down the volume without entering the player's UI program. This pen also turns on the screen by pressing at will. The amount of pressure required to rotate the screen is just the right amount to prevent accidental activation when the device is in a pocket. Three small buttons on the side scroll back, forward and pause. The reason I didn't want Android is because I already have a phone and a big screen running all the apps I need. For my DAP I just want the processors to take care of converting digital formats to great sound, most Android players have issues from time to time and I don't need it. This player has worked flawlessly for over 100 hours on multiple 12 hour runs as I travel a lot. DSD formats sound great, and since the player can handle a 1TB card if you can find one, storage isn't an issue. I have a 250GB card and that's more than enough for me. But if one day DSD music becomes more accessible I'll be ready as DSD files are huge. I like USB C and the file transfer is fast, all my computers and android devices recognize it and transfer files by regular drag and drop or other system. commands. The sound this player produces is great. I hook it up to a Monoprice 3.5 on RCA at home for a stereo system and it really brings out the best in my system, the bass is tight, the vocals are great and the highs are sparkling. The only downside to this player is that it has to stick with headphones with a maximum impedance of 80 ohms as it doesn't have enough power to handle 250 ohm banks. I don't actually mind as I use in-ear headphones most of the time, some Master and Dynamic ME01 which I like. and the grip indicator is first gear. Came with a silicone case and an extra screen protector as it was already fitted neatly with no air bubbles or dust underneath. I love this player so much I'm considering getting another one as I'd be stuck without my music.
