I tried closing the strap only to open the opposite end and the strap fell out on that side. Then I tucked one end in and pinned it at the back. The instructions didn't really help. The images they showed on a small piece of paper could have been enlarged much more and cut out people's hands. I don't need to see her hands so much, I need to see where the buckle is! Finally, just before I wanted to think about return options, I took the final step. That is the secret! ** You have to work harder than you think to click the buckle. I thought I'd break the plastic, but when I thought I'd return the strap if I didn't find out I wasn't afraid of breaking it anymore and applied the right amount of force. Now the buckle makes more sense and I can see how snug and secure it can be. Wish me good luck. After all this I still haven't given it to my son!
