Absolutely incredible quality at a frankly incredible price!

Stun. To be honest I am blown away by the quality this printer can produce. I have a few friends with 3D printers, but this was my first venture into the hobby. The first time you pull out the build plate, something is dangling inside. it's pretty incredible. However, you must understand what you are getting yourself into. While this printer is mostly ready to use right out of the box (note: you'll need to buy resin—no starting resin is included), that doesn't mean you'll be 3D printing cars and airplanes overnight. It's still a hobby device; This means some learning and safety precautions must be taken to get successful casts and not get sick in the process. Resin can be an uncomfortable substance. You must respect this. That means gloves, a well-ventilated area and you should always wear a mask and goggles when working with this. You also need a way to neutralize most resins after the printing process. That means detail cleaning in IPA 90%+. Even if your models are *mostly* solid, it's a good idea to hit them with extra UV light to complete the process. Either with a UV light source or with our good friend Mr. Sun. Another aspect is the working conditions. The resin becomes sticky below 68F and becomes too thin above 77F. Your prints will fail if you can't stay consistently between these temperatures. Vibration is another thing to consider. You need a fairly flat surface that doesn't bounce off the ground for the prints to work properly. Finally, while you don't need a computer to print, you do need one to properly set up your files for printing. It also means learning additional software if you ever want to do more than just download what someone else previously typed. The last problem is that in addition to resin, your printer also contains consumable parts. Resin tank liners wear out and need to be replaced. UV lamps do not help. The screen dies. With any luck, most of them won't happen for a while, but understand that you need to learn how to replace these things when they do. Not if, when. SO! If you're willing to take setbacks, handle resin safely, have the right workspace, learn some software, and maintain some hardware, you're ready to get to work! Be curious! This is amazing technology! You can turn your poisonous slime bath into models, toys, tools, decorations and tons of other items! And it's the PERFECT printer for novice and experienced printers alike!

Pros
  • Faster printing and less maintenance
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
