Review on BASSTOP Translucent DIY Replacement Housing Shell Case for NS NX Switch Console - Console-Jungle Green by Virgilio Patton

Now with MORE DIY in cases and storage

First: I bought white, left and right interchangeable shells with a d-pad on the left joystick instead of buttons. I was hesitant to purchase this product due to the high price (for what it is) and the negative reviews. about casting errors. For a product like this the casting really has to be perfect and as many other reviews have said the product has fatal flaws. EXPECT TO CHANGE THIS PRODUCT. I had to use a sharp tool to remove the excess plastic and a file to get the correct joystick to close and keep the trigger from sticking. Ultimately, this is a bad review as I had to put in many hours of frustrated effort before it worked for me. Pros: - The quality of the plastic is good. It's not soft-touch plastic like the original joysticks, but it's high-quality plastic. The cross is very beautiful. It feels like it was designed primarily with the D-Pad in mind. - * Most of the project is quite easy and can be done without video instructions if you have the tools handy. Cons: - Required tools not included (they weren't for me) - *Some projects are very complex. The triggers in particular and a few ribbon cables are tricky (check out the instruction video and you should be fine, but you'll need to scan the QR code to find the instruction video) - the shape on my product wasn't perfect, which is to say caused the trigger to get stuck it's impossible to close on the right joycon without further mods - additional shell mods are required to complete the project - the colored buttons that come with it are rubbish (the letters are in weird small print printed off center). Tools Required: - Y0 Screwdriver - J000 Screwdriver - Plastic tool/spudger - Tweezers - Double sided tape for your battery (it will wiggle without it) You may also need: - Sandpaper - Scissors - Small file - Flathead 1mm New set of nice cons, if you break these tips: - do it in a big free space where there is nothing on the table/field around you (screws and springs are very difficult to hold together) - if you don't have a very, very good memory, use a Diagram (draw t where the screws go when you take it apart) - Check the track installation before doing the whole installation on the right end of the joy - Allow about 3-5 hours of your time. You may have to take things apart again and saw them off, cut things off, sand things down or whatever. - In case of problems, contact Basstop immediately. You are aware of some of the problems and have pictures of some of the changes you can make to fix them.
