I bought this for a guest bathroom that is rarely used so it gets really awkward when the water evaporates and just stays there. I used traditional plastic bristle brushes on all of my toilets, but the one in the guest bathroom fell apart after a few years, so I went with these. It is delivered unassembled. You simply screw on the handle and it's ready when you want to store it on the floor. It comes with a sticker to hang on the wall if you prefer and the back of the base has slots to place a stick. I didn't test it and just put the base on the floor. The base itself is well designed to provide good drainage and airflow to dry the brush after it has been used and cleaned. My base came loose at the seam when it arrived but I just put it back in place. I don't expect it to show up again or be a problem at all. But does silicone clean as well as a bristle brush? Absolutely! It doesn't spread over as much surface area as the bristles of a traditional brush, but what it touches cleans better and faster. It only takes 20 seconds to clean the toilet in the guest room very effectively. I agree with others here - every time I change another toilet brush, it will be a silicone brush. This is a good product at a fair price. highlighted.
